October Panchang and Festivals

One of the most eventful months of 2025 is October. There is a festival or planetary event almost every 2nd day!!

Diwali the festival that lights up the life of almost every Indian ( especially North) happens on 20th/21st October. The Amavasya tithi starts on around 4pm on 20th and extends up to 5pm on 21st. So while technically Diwali is on 21st but Laxmi Poojan timing is on the evening of 20th October.

Dussehra, Sharad Purnima, Karwachauth, Ahoi, Dhanteras, Diwali, Annakoot ( Govardhan Pooja), Bhaidooj, Chhat, Gopashtami – all festivals are adorning the timeline of this month.

Jupiter, the mightiest benefic of our planetary system changes sign to Cancer on 18th October and gets exalted. This happens after 13 years.

Venus or Shukra, representing the Shukracharya, the mighty Guru of Asuras is on the other hand is getting debilitated on 9th October and will arise only on 2nd November, 2025. Mercury is changing signs to Libra and Scorpio in October 2025. Sun and Mars are moving to Libra and Scorpio respectively in this super month!! Sun will be debiltated but Mars will be in own sign.
