October 2026 – Panchang & Festivals

The month of October sees a major planetary transit when Jupiter or Brihaspati Dev moves into Leo sign on October 31. Jupiter thus ends its exalted stint and one must now note that the debilitation of Mars that was otherwise getting cancelled due to its placement with exalted Jupiter ( Neech Bhanga) now is active in full force.

Multiple planetary combinations happen in October 2026. Jupiter moves into Leo at a time when the lord of Leo (which is Sun) is debilitated. Mars is also debilitated. Venus turns retrograde and combust in Libra which thankfully is its own sign in this month.

Saturn enters into Uttarbhadrapada Nakshatra which is its own Nakshatra though in retrograde motion.

Mercury also turns retrograde this month.

While the planetary sky looks hassling, Indian populace at large would be celebrating festivities in October 2026. Shraadhs will end on 10th October and festivals like Mahalaya Amavasya, Sharad Navratri, Vijayadashami (Dussehra) will keep the devotees busy and happy!
